Make a List and Check It Twice.
November 18, 2024 7:02 pm
As you start planning gifts for the Holiday Season, don’t forget that you are special too.
Make a list of gifts that would please you this Holiday. Your loved ones may not be in the habit of asking you for
a gift list, but this year you can start the tradition of giving one. They will most likely be quite happy to have your list so they don’t have to worry about whether you will like the gift they select.
If the list needs to spread beyond your household, you could email the list with a message like, “I took some time to think about what would make a good Holiday gift for me. I would love for you to do the same thing and share it with me.”
Or, if you don’t want to spread your list beyond your own household, you can quietly post it on the refrigerator or in another obvious place. No explanation required – although you will probably get some questions coming your way.
You will be showing your children something important even beyond Holiday gift giving – that it is OK to let those who care about you know what you need.
