Art and Concentration

Monday’s Parenting Thought

Art

When children do art (drawing, painting, sculpting, music, dance, acting, sewing, cooking, etc.), they have to focus.

It takes attention and concentration to get ideas from their heads through their muscles and nerves and onto a page or stage or plate.

Let your child practice paying attention. Let him or her do art this week.

Inspired by the picture book, MORRIS THE ARTIST.
More about making children the center of attention at The Benefits of Art, Choices, and Discipline: Part 1.
