Let’s Think about Grandparents.

As we approach the winter Holidays, it is a good time to think about your grandparents, even if they are no longer alive. Think about what you loved to do with them when you were young. Think about why you liked to be around them. Think about how they made you feel.
If your grandparents are still around, share your thoughts with them either in person, by letter, or via the internet. If possible, also share your thoughts with your parents and your children too, if they are old enough.
If you happen to be a grandparent – celebrate that.  If you are a parent and are lucky enough to have grandparents in your child’s life – celebrate that. Children need as many people in their circle of love as possible. The more there are the better it is. Competing to be the most important person or the most loved person in a child’s life is not helpful to the child. Children need to be open to accepting as many loving people in their lives as they are fortunate enough to have around them.
