Power and Parenting #3

Monday’s Parenting Thought

Which way do you most often try to get your way? Chances are, you decided this when you were very young and certain ways worked better than others.

(1) Coaxing, (2) crying, (3) whining, ) (4) being pleasing, (5) tricking or outsmarting, (6) bribing, (7) overpowering or forcing, (8) talking it out, (9) problem-solving, (10) giving up?

Which one is working for  your child? These early decisions about personal power shape what they will be like as friends, family members, and workers as adults.
