Encourage your children to have high self-esteem by…

• Teaching them to do things for themselves and to gradually become independent.

• Teaching them the rules of life that will allow them to get along in their world.

• Showing them that there are consequences for their actions and that they have the courage to pay those consequences, if necessary.

• Teaching them how they can make up for mistakes they make.

• Showing them that you will still love them, even if they make mistakes.
