Today’s Parenting Tip:
Decide: Your child can learn to deal with his feelings.
Practice: Sit with your child today and make a list of all the things a person can do instead of hitting. Post the list and invite your child to share it with others. For young children, they can talk and you can write.
On another day, use the list for a drawing/coloring activity – take items on the list and make pictures to represent the ideas. Hang them up. (See SELF ESTEEM A FAMILY AFFAIR by Jean Illsley Clarke for more ideas.)

Today’s Decide and Practice daily parenting tip was inspired by our featured picture book, KING ARTHUR’S VERY GREAT GRANDSON. Read the book to a child in your life each day as a reminder of what you are deciding and practicing that day.
Come back each day for another good parenting decision and how to practice it. (Each day’s activity will also be posted on Daily Parenting Tips page for easy access.)
